Details on the releases:

Title: I I Would Have To Be Fool
Artist: Stimulator Jones
Label: Tugboat Editions

Stimulator Jones returns to Tim Zawada’s Star Creature orbit with their second collaborative release, this trip on 7” via the Tugboat Editions imprint. Ben White’s modern soul masterpiece gets a full red-carpet cover treatment cover version ripe for the soundsystems of today that all too commonly yearn for the vibes of the past.

The follow up to this year’s Stimulator Tracks ventures in a new direction that only makes sense for this Virginia -> Chicago partnership. While the first volume of the Stimulator Tracks 12” series gave us part Fingers Inc, part Ten City, Part Armando this next record sees Mr. Jones tackle the rare-groove/boogie sound Zawada’s DJ Sets and Boogie Munsters Crew have been pumping around Chicago for the last 15 years.

Mastering everything from Hip Hop, R&B and Jazz to now Drum & Bass, Deep House, Acid and Garage, Stimulator Jones is a name to watch when it comes to solid production chops and Michelin star level tastes in the underground settings. An Alum of LA’s Stones Throw, Scotland’s Craigie Knowes and Oslo’s Mutual Intentions, this new Chapter with Chicago’s Star Creature will be a page turner for the ears indeed!

Title: Why You Gotta? b/w Pineapple Island
Artist: Raf Reza
Label: Star Creature
Format: 7"

Might have to start calling Star Creature the Boogie Bullies the way they are pushing this hard synth funk heavily across dance floors across the planet. I wouldn't bet against them - the confidence that left-field, instrumental synth funk can slam out a dance floor Chicago style shows us why the Windy City has been such a taste-making influential city for DJs, players and listeners for decades. The Windy City label taps Toronto's Raf Reza here for an outer-space exploration that will leave your dance floor floating. Why You Gotta on the A Side delivers the perfect tempo, chugging bassline, atmospheric pads, sneering synth lines along a simple disco drum track - straight connection and gets the job done. Proper B-Side Balearic Boogie fits perfectly into a seaside sundrenched terrace or basement sweatbox - either way eyes will be closed, vibes will be open. RIYL Star Creature regulars A Vision Of Panorama, Mogwaa, E. Live, Ourra - a Star Creature must cop.

Title: Desires EP
Artist: A Vision of Panorama
Label: Star Creature
Format: 12" EP

A Vision of Panorama and Star Creature continue their fruitful partnership with another BIG 12" ready for the crates. The follow up to the largely instrumental (and apparently sold out) Fusion To Illusion LP takes us back to the Deep House x Boogie RnB zone this duo does so perfectly. Cool Sounding and above the trend, no cheese, futuristic and retro, AVOP taps collaborators Sykes and Stacie G for prime time loungey vocal vibes. The A Side also sees previous 7" Only tune "Purple" get a 12" treatment alongside instrumental Ear Dreamin'. Flip Side has instrumentals.
