Star Creature presents three new dancefloor vault-breakers each for the first time on 45. Scoop all three here.

SC7708: Lesette Wilson - 'Caveman Boogie b/w Look Into Tomorrow'
A NYC-born-and-bred keyboard funk treasure remastered, re-edited and ready for another spin around the galaxy. Jazz pianist and known collaborator of Roy Ayers, Tom Browne, and Chaka Khan, Lesette Wilson brings the goods with a double-sided dose of jazz funk moves, making its way onto an exclusive 7-inch reissue for the diggers, the devotees, and the small-format faithful.

The irresistible opener to her 1981 solo debut Now That I Have Your Attention and longtime favorite amongst the UK rare groove scene, “Caveman Boogie” gets down to the prehistoric business, serving up the kind of deep-cut heat that makes you wonder how many dancefloors have been missing out. Flip it 180 degrees for “Look Into Tomorrow,” a previously 12-inch-exclusive of driving piano stylings à la George Duke or Deodato. Masterfully restored by the Numero Group and edited by Star Creature helmsman Tim Zawada, back into the hands of those who know.

SC7709: Life Force - 'Funky Mama b/w Slow Dancer'
An off-the-beaten path entry from Roulette-subsidiary Strawberry Records, Life Force’s self-titled ‘76 blue-eyed funk smasher has steadily stirred up the interest of collectors and disco enthusiasts. Produced by Randy Irwin (The Shirelles, Family Circle, Ecstasy, Passion & Pain), the one-time ensemble weaves tastefully soulful horn harmonies and uptempo stank on “Funky Mama,” with collector-bait hit “Slow Dancer” filling up the B-side for a laid-back, sun-deck delight.

Dutifully restored by Chicago funk authority the Numero Group, these two choice cuts from the Life Force LP swing back into rotation on never-before-reissued 7” format. Don’t sleep!

SC7710: The Mike De León Band - 'Granada b/w I Am Still In Love'
Smooth-talking, tuxedo-wearing Latin Disco from San Antonio. Two prize picks from the ultra rare Antonio Records LP Elegante! repackaged onto 45 for their first-ever vinyl reissue. A double stroke of jazz-minded sophisti-funk and lounge lizard charm for turning your set on its head or carrying the energy through to the other side. Dust off the dinner jacket, pour something neat.
