This is a delicious slice of Balearic meets Parisian translation of Italo Boogie of the finest degree. A 6-track slab of cosmic disco perfection and crime jazz seductions. Tim Zawada's Star Creature continues to unearth these highly skilled scene new-comers like some sort of literal funk monk - this time via Paris' own Plastic Bamboo giving us something for all occasions - Peak Hour Dancefloor: Bad Boy Bubby, Late Night Top Down Cliffside Cruise: La Salamandre, Locking eyes across the club with a potential nocturnal partner: Touki Bouki - and that's just the A Side. The journey continues on the B Side with sophisticated symphonic synthesis across many moons, moods, tempos and temperatures. This is a year round, round the world EP, 3 Michelin Star type record with satisfaction as the destiny.

Regarding inspiration for the project, Plastic Bamboo alias of Camille Bertin channels his love for proto-house, boogie and zouk through iconic synthesizers like the DX7 and Juno 106 to create a set that's easy on the ears and tough on the feet.

When asked about the origins of the EP, Zawada said he got the demo several years ago and replied almost immediately. Plastic Bamboo, real name Camille Bertin regretted to inform that another label already laid claim. “Dang well – if things fall through, let’s keep in touch”.

“I was really just waiting for the record to come out so I could buy and play. Every few months I would drop Camille a line and inquire” After a couple years and the falling out of the original deal, the EP alongside some new additions made their back to Chicago to much excitement.

“I’ve been playing Bad Boy Bubby at gigs for the past 2 years and the test press since October. Snapping necks in the booth with this one – not leaving the bag anytime soon”
