Reflections

Chicago's Doug Shorts has been singing and writing for over 40 years, always with a soulful vibe rooted in his hometown's musical heritage. Shorts' polished vocals carry a smooth, emotive Windy City sound reminiscent of Curtis Mayfield and led him to tour with Brunswick artists in the 70s and spend the 80s presenting his original compositions to major labels. This one bridges old-school soul scenes via Funk Night. 'Reflections' has a prominent bassline that sets the groove with a slightly darker vocal from Shorts, eventually transforming into a sweet r&b style with chunky drums demanding you stomp along.
