Freakway are back for the first time since their sold out 2015 Star Creature debut 7”.?A collaboration between modern funkster Liquid Pegasus and vocalist Schmelson, who after meeting in Tokyo discovered a shared love for Japanese City Pop and disco boogie music. Both fed up with the the tired tropes of modern dance-oriented pop and loop-heavy "nu-disco," Freakway formed with an intent to subvert expectations of the genre with absurd themes. Runnin’ is a galloping disco track that never gives up. Super infectious bass lines and upbeat agogo bells make for a high energy dancefloor bopper about love on the run.?Sailin’ is a slow grooving sunset scene with bass waves churning under a synth-flute’s siren song. Small-hole 7” double A-sider 45 that looks great and sounds amazing. 350 available. For the discerning DJ who plays strong songs and the home-listener who likes some nuance in their grooves.
